Summer Band
Summer Band starts back up 8/10/99 at the usual time (5:30 PM). Everyone's been doing a great job with it and I'm really looking forward to a great concert. Even if you're not in Summer Band you should come out to support us, or if that doesn't convince you just come for the music. Jazz has already started picking out its pieces for the concert and they're really starting to come together. We have some great soloists emerging. You're not gona wana miss this.
I'm Band Manager
That's right, I, along with Angela Walden, have been given the job of personal assistant to Mr. Keys. That means that we get to run all the errands that are too insignificant and time consuming for him to deal with (not to say he doesn't work hard). I was going to be working on resetting the locker combos and reissuing them but I guess the Lutenants needed something to do so Stacy got the job. She won't give me my combo!!! Only Seniors and Juniors are being given lockers right now so don't even ask if you're a freshman or sophomore. I recommend you find someone to share a locker with because you probably wont get your own. Angela, to my knowledge, has finished the Band Roster so everyone should be getting copies eventually and the section leaders should already have them. If you're a section leader and don't be sure to contact her (or me) so that you'll know who's in your section in order to call sectionals. As you can tell, we're busily working away at twidling our thumbs right now and enjoying our titles with no power to show for them but we're not bitter, ya that's right.
Band Video
As most of you know, I had trouble with the Band Video and it wasn't shown at the Band Banquet. I'm very sorry to report that there will be no band video for this year. The problem proved to be bigger then I thought. I may get the program up and running eventually but the chances of me being able to realisticly complete the band video are slim to none weighing heavily on none. I don't think Keys would let me do the band video for next year even if I wanted to but I do have something special planned for next year. Hopefully I'll be able to make up for things with it.
Sectionals Starting Soon
Sectionals should be starting soon, although they probably wont unless you have a somewhat responsible section leader. As most of you know, I wont get the chance but I'd like to wish the best of luck to my successors, Chris and Josiah. I'll be watching them to make sure they don't screw up (and definitely not giving them any obstacles to trip them up), j/k. As for the other section leaders, work hard and we'll have a great band next year. It cant all be done during band.
