(Omaha Beach)
Description
D-day is my most recent full piece. I wrote it for my History class as extra credit. It's supposed to represent the trajedy of D-day, the day of the main offensive against Germany in World War II. I specificly wrote about what I felt was the biggest trajedy, Omaha Beach. I wont go into too much detail but the main path that it follows is the paratroupers flying to their destination and the intense nervousness that they felt, their jump, the day of the attack and a small boat making the dangerous trip to the beach, getting stuck on a sand bar and haveing to run through heavy enemy fire to get to the beach, a hero fallen, and still the war goes on. The piece itself is a combination of sad, anxious, and intense feelings. The fact that it's played on pianos adds a bit of a minimalist touch to it too. I feel that it is well worth listening to.
